The slide hammer is a manual alternative to hydraulic driven direct push geoprobes. It reaches tight spots and provides a low cost option to collect soil, soil gas and groundwater samples. The slide hammer is designed for sampling depths less than 20 ft. The small diameter Large Bore sampler is the recommended method to collect soil using the slide hammer. Groundwater grab samples are quickly collected from the shallow water table using 1" rods, expendable points and Geoprobe's stainless steel mini-bailer or peristaltic pump.
